Hi, my name is Luke, and this is Common Sense Journalism. This blog will take in-depth dives into the UK political scene, taking a common-sense approach to politics.
Modern Politics has become convoluted, confusing, and polarised, with the media playing a large role in how we engage with politics. We want to make it simpler.
The name is inspired by the great 18th-century political thinker, Thomas Paine, who wrote a piece named ‘Common Sense’ in regard to the American War of Independence. He believed that the world of politics was accessible to everyone and that no matter the background, anyone could play a role in shaping their country.
That is our goal for this blog, not to give you up-to-date news, breaking events or even try to convince you how to vote. Instead, we wish to provide new perspectives and provide you with all the facts so that you can form your own opinions on UK politics. In doing so, become an active cog in the machine.
